Drummers

Currently, the band has five active members: a drum major, one snare drummer, one bass drummer, and two bagpipers.  We hope to incorporate a tenor drum into the band in the near future.  Membership of the Denton Fire Department Pipes and Drums is open to all current or retired Denton Fire Department members.

Chris Ahrens

Chris Ahrens plays the bass drum.  He is a Firefighter/paramedic at Fire Station 6 on C-shift. Chris has been with the DFD for 12 years.

Mark Fleniken

Mark Fleniken is the band’s drum major.  He is a Driver/paramedic at Fire Station 5 on C-shift.  Mark has been with the DFD for 8 years.

Cullen Hinshaw

Cullen Hinshaw plays the snare drum.  He is a Driver/paramedic at Station 6 on B-shift. Cullen has been with the DFD for 8 years.

Chuck Howell

Chuck Howell plays the bagpipes.  He is a Captain/paramedic at Station 1 on C-shift.  Chuck has been with the DFD for 14 years.

Mark Mason

Mark Mason plays the bagpipes.  He is a Driver/paramedic at Station 1 on C-Shift. Mark has been with the DFD for 14 years.
